Defending The Blue Line
Defending The Blue Line was founded in the spring of 2009 by 2 currently serving National Guard soldiers from Minnesota. To date we have provided over $500,000 in benefits to military families across the US. We provide free hockey equipment, grants to help with association fees, free summer hockey camps, and NHL game tickets. Our ultimate goal is to expand into other sports and be the one-stop-shop to keep military kids active in sports while their parents are serving! -There is no one else doing what we're doing.

This is an outstanding organization producing outstanding results. They need our support. The cost of playing Hockey is more then a working family can bear not to mention a military family with one parent deployed. Keep up the great work Shane.

Thanks for the kind words Dan! -We provide benefits to every branch of service and have helped not only Guard soldiers but Marines, Active Army, Air Force, and Navy personnel as well! It's been great to be able to give back to so many families.

Shane and DTBL have been great to our family. While I was in Iraq, our daugher, Lauren, got to attend a hockey camp. When I was injured and got home, my family got to attend a Wild game. Thanks to Brent Burns and DTBL!

This is a great program, hockey is not only a costly sport, but time consuming expecially difficult for single parenting family's.

What a great program! We are in Germany, with their father deployed in Afghanistan. Hockey is something that is the only constant thing in our kids lives. Moving around is not easy for any children, but to continue to play hockey is extremely difficult. To have a program like this that supports our children is very special. They love hockey, and we love DTBL for making it more affordable for people like us!! Thank you and keep up the GREAT work!
