The bottom line is, whatever we do for our Troops it's not enough. They deserve every accolade, every care package, every scholarship, every visit, every everything we can lay on them. If you disagree with that, go to Afghanistan and walk in their boots!
Thanks to you all! God Bless America!
Good luck all! The wait is driving me crazy, but the timeliness, not very surprising. All we can do is continue the mission, everything we do is a win for our military families. God Bless.
All that frustration and no one will even be able to see what I submitted cause I was not one in 20 oh well I will still continue my work with Operation Homefront I just wish I could have helped them more.
I feel your pain. We didn't make it either. I congratulate the finalists and wish them luck and thank them for their service. I am very disappointed we didn't make the cut. After nearly 9 years of service to our Warriors and impacting tens of thousands of lives I thought we'd at least be a finalist but... oh well. Best of luck to you all. I am signing off. I am not able to even get to the page 2 so I can't even see the latest discussions. All the best guys.
Alan K www.adoptasoldierplatoon.org we'll keep doing what we do. Whatever we do for our troops it isn't enough. God bless America!
It sadden me that none of the smaller non-profits, small groups or organizations or individuals who have worked so hard didn't make it into the top 20. While I agree that those that made it are doing great things.... they already have the name recognition and awareness. I was hoping that they would at least choose a few of the unknowns so that the nation would know what great things are being accomplished by such unknown small groups or individuals. For all those that submitted and were not among the top 20.... please keep on doing what you are doing to make a difference in the lives of our military heroes and their families. They need our support!

Everyone, I feel your pain. I thought Operation We Are Here was doing some innovative things to connect the military and civilian communities...highlighting everyone's efforts...being a go-to-place for military supporters and the military community. (Check out the new Toolkit for military supporters that's interest-based). Apparently it's not innovative enough for the cut.
Many of the great organizations who applied for this challenge are on the OWAH site...if for some reason you're not, I welcome you to contact me for consideration to get you listed on there. I would love to help create an awareness for what you are doing!
Congrats to all for their efforts...let's not let this challenge discourage us. This isn't the drive behind what we do. :)
And don't worry...behind all my hooah words, I'm human and frustrated too. :(
Well, we didn't make the cut, but congrats to those who did. For the work that we are all doing, the real winners are the families that we support.
It would be a nice resource for Military Families if we put up a links page to all of our sites. If anyone wants to participate email me directly and I will coordinate. My email is Pat@Projectfoot.org
Not sure if any of my comments are being added to the discussion feed, and it's frustrating the website won't show past the 1st page.
However, feel free to request to list your wonderful organizations on the www.operationwearehere.com website ~ it's a clearinghouse of resources for the military community and military supporters. It's becoming very popular and I would love to share what you're doing on there. :) benita@operationwearehere.com
Hi all - it occurred to me that this is a great networking opportunity for all of us. We all want to help the troops and often get requests for things we don't do or not part of our focused mission. Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon sends care cartons to our Troopers downrange, goes to Walter Reed and brings cheer, does special projects down range such as Xbox tournaments (Xbowl) and does all kinds of things. We have a Combat Care initiative, support K-9s you name it. Anyway, if we create a network among us maybe we can all do even more by knowing each other and what we all do. My email is alank@adoptasoldierplatoon.org. Please email me and let me know what you all do and if you want to be connected. Good luck and again, congrats to the finalists!

Creating a network of those committed to reaching out to our military and their families is ultimately the best results this "Challenge" could have fostered. Congrats to those who won and big hugs to all those who didn't because no matter how you look at it our military is the overall winner of EVERYONES efforts. I have added your email to my contacts and will be in touch to see how best we can continue to reach out to those who serve and for whom we all owe a tremendous debt
excellent Ellie! I can't get to the next page on this site. just won't go there! so i can't read anything. please email me and let's work to get everyone involved so we can do even more for our Troops. And if we can do that. we've used this for the best possible outcome!
for those of us who don't use Yahoo, would you consider making a facebook group for us????? I belong to so many different networks I'd rather use one of the main ones. That possible???
